Job description

BrightWhite Cleaning is a growing commercial cleaning company providing professional cleaning solutions to businesses across the East of England.

We specialise in commercial, construction and contract cleaning, working with businesses, contractors and construction companies to provide reliable, high-quality cleaning services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and personable Sales Representative to join our team and help us grow our customer base across the East of England.

The Role:

This is a field-based sales and business development role focused on identifying new opportunities, building relationships and getting in front of the right decision-makers. Your primary objective will be to identify potential customers, speak to the person responsible for cleaning contracts and facilities, understand their requirements and secure appointments for our Director to attend and complete site visits, discuss requirements and provide quotations.

This is a proactive sales role. You'll be expected to be comfortable picking up the phone, walking into businesses, introducing yourself and BrightWhite Cleaning, and creating opportunities from scratch. You will cover the East of England, with travel throughout and some overnight stays where required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and target new commercial, construction and contract cleaning opportunities.
  • Develop a pipeline of potential customers across the East of England.
  • Make cold calls to businesses and potential clients.
  • Carry out face-to-face prospecting and door knocking.
  • Visit construction sites, commercial premises, offices, industrial sites and other potential customers.
  • Identify and speak directly with the key decision-maker wherever possible.
  • Introduce BrightWhite Cleaning and understand the prospect's cleaning requirements.
  • Generate qualified leads and arrange meetings / site visits for the Director.
  • Maintain regular contact with prospects and follow up on opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with potential and existing customers.
  • Keep accurate records of leads, contacts, meetings and opportunities.
  • Identify upcoming construction projects and other potential contract cleaning opportunities.
  • Represent BrightWhite Cleaning professionally at all times.

What you'll be selling

You will be introducing prospective customers to BrightWhite Cleaning's commercial cleaning services, including opportunities such as:

  • Construction cleaning
  • Builders cleans
  • Commercial cleaning contracts
  • Industrial cleaning
  • Office cleaning
  • Site cleaning
  • Ongoing contract cleaning
  • One-off and specialist cleaning requirements

The role is particularly focused on winning new commercial and contract cleaning opportunities.

Person Specification:

We're looking for someone who is confident, driven and not afraid to make the first move. You will have a background of sales with the ability to communicate confidently with business owners, managers and decision-makers.

Experience that would be extremely advantageous:

  • Previous experience within the commercial cleaning sector, industrial cleaning sector or the construction industry.
  • Experience selling cleaning, facilities management, construction or other business-to-business services.

Experience in these industries is highly desirable because you'll understand how businesses operate, who the decision-makers are and the importance of winning contract work.

You'll need to be:

  • Confident approaching and speaking to people at all levels.
  • Comfortable with cold calling and door-to-door prospecting.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Target-driven and commercially minded.
  • Persistent without being pushy.
  • Professional and personable.
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage your own diary.
  • Comfortable spending significant amounts of time on the road.
  • A strong communicator with good relationship-building skills.
  • Able to identify a genuine sales opportunity and get the right person involved.
  • Willing to travel extensively across the East of England and stay away overnight when required.
  • A full UK driving licence holder.
