P+S Recruitment are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently recruiting for a Electrical Design Engineer to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full-time, permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full design process, from initial sales enquiry through to production, manufacture, site assembly and installation.
  • Produce technical drawings, production drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to meet customer requirements.
  • Create and maintain electrical and mechanical drawings for standard products and customer-specific projects.
  • Control, revise and maintain all technical drawings and project documentation throughout the design and development process.
  • Provide timely technical solutions to overcome design and manufacturing challenges while meeting budget and customer requirements.
  • Research and identify suitable components and suppliers, maintaining positive supplier relationships and resolving technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications required for product manufacture.
  • Ensure designs and manufacturing processes comply with relevant British and International Standards, keeping standards and specifications regularly reviewed and up to date.
  • Support the Sales and Manufacturing teams with technical information and solutions.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum HND in an electrical engineering discipline.
  • 2-3 years recent experience of using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Knowledge of electrical project drawings.
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas and Maritime Industries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and on project teams.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel.
  • A pro-active approach to role tasks.
  • An ability to take a logical approach to role tasks.

Working Hours & Benefits:

  • Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week
  • Flexible start time between 08:00-09:00 and finish between 16:00-17:00
  • Overtime subject to project requirements – paid at enhanced rate where applicable.
  • Holiday entitlement 33 days per year (8 statutory, 3 taken for Christmas shut down).
