P+S Recruitment are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team based in Norwich on a full-time, permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to establish robust machine assembly processes.
  • Investigate component failures and build issues in Machine Build.
  • Participate in the Engineering Change process to ensure changes are prioritised and planned.
  • Work with the quality and machine production departments to carry out PFMEAs of new products during the production engineering phase of projects.
  • Ensure Engineering changes are incorporated into machine assembly processes and provide support when changes are adopted in Manufacturing.
  • Work with suppliers to co-ordinate the introduction of Engineering Changes.
  • Contribute to the investigation and resolution of problems raised through the company’s CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) system.
  • Support third party certification activities to recognised standards such as BRC Global Standard, Packaging and Packaging Materials and ISO 9001.
  • Abide by all statutory requirements and adhere to and promote all company policies and procedures including (but not limited to) those relating to HR, quality, food safety, environmental, and health and safety.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the line manager.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related degree.
  • Demonstrable experience working in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrable root cause analysis and problem-solving skills with a logical and systematic approach.
  • Proficient with MS Office or similar applications, including spread sheets, word processing, email and presentations.

  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and oral and written communications skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Pays close attention to detail.
  • To be able to adapt to new tasks or responsibilities as required.
  • Able to travel with periodic evenings and overnight assignments, including domestic and international locations (approximately 10%).

Working Hours:

  • 38 Hours per week.
  • Monday – Friday.
  • Core hours 08:00-16:30/09:00-17:30, depending on needs of the business.
