P+S Recruitment are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently recruiting for a New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full-time, permanent basis.

Role Summary:

The role combines electronic engineering and manufacturing expertise, working closely with design, manufacturing, process, test, quality, and supply-chain teams to ensure products are robust, manufacturable, testable, and production-ready.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support NPI activities from initial concept and prototypes through qualification, production release, and manufacturing ramp-up.
  • Represent manufacturing during product development, ensuring designs consider manufacturability, assembly, testing, reliability, and production needs.
  • Support electronic engineering activities, including requirements, design reviews, component selection, verification, and validation.
  • Support product design reviews and lead manufacturing and production-readiness reviews.
  • Help develop manufacturing processes, including assembly methods, tooling, equipment, inspection, and production testing.
  • Plan and support prototype, pilot, and pre-production builds, helping resolve design and manufacturing issues through structured root cause analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation, including bills of material, drawings, work instructions, process specifications, and test requirements.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to ensure components, materials, processes, equipment, and resources are ready for production.
  • Support design changes and maintain accurate product and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support the transition into production and early manufacturing activities until the required quality, yield, and process stability are achieved.

Person Specification:

  • Degree in Electronic, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in electronic product development, NPI, manufacturing, or product engineering within high-reliability or regulated environments.
  • Proven experience taking electronic products from prototype through qualification, production release, and manufacturing.
  • Practical knowledge of electronic manufacturing, including assembly, inspection, testing, and production documentation.
  • Good understanding of electronic design, including schematics, layouts, components, and bills of material.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacture, assembly, test, and reliability, along with root cause analysis and engineering change control.
  • Strong communication, planning, problem-solving, and cross-functional working skills.
  • Eligible to obtain full security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier, customer, or project activities.

Working Hours and Benefits:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Mon-Thurs, 08:00-16:30, Fri 08:00-13:30
