P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Pump Technician to join their team based in Loddon on a full-time, permanent basis.
Job Summary:
As the Pump Technician you will be supporting pumping operations for customers across the UK and internationally, focussing on the mobilisation, operation, monitoring and demobilisation of pumping equipment used for cargo transfers, tank cleaning, sludge transfer, dewatering and other fluid transfer operations.
Main Responsibilities:
Operational Duties
Mobilise and demobilise portable pumping equipment for customer projects.
Set up, operate and monitor pumps and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
Carry out fluid transfer operations in accordance with project requirements and procedures.
Monitor operating parameters including pressure, flow rates and equipment performance.
Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
Conduct pre-use inspections and routine equipment checks.
Ensure all pumping operations are carried out safely and in accordance with customer and company procedures.
Liaise with clients, vessel personnel and site representatives during operations.
Complete operational reports and project documentation.
Office-Based Duties:
Work alongside the Project Team to:
Prepare operational paperwork, job packs and risk assessments.
Assist with planning and coordinating pumping operations.
Produce post-job reports and customer documentation.
Support equipment scheduling and mobilisation planning.
Liaise with customers regarding operational requirements.
Participate in operational reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
Comply with all HSSEQ policies, procedures and client requirements.
Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments and safety briefings.
Identify and report hazards, incidents and near misses.
Promote a strong safety culture at all times.
Ensure company and customer standards are maintained throughout operations.
Person Specification:
Strong knowledge and experience of portable pumping equipment and pumping operations.
Good understanding of pumps, hoses, manifolds and associated transfer equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot operational issues in the field.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and within project teams.
Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Passport and Full UK driving licence.
Regular travel throughout the UK.
International travel may be required to support customer operations and projects.
Experience working aboard vessels or at marine terminals (Desirable).
Offshore certificates/tickets (BOSIET, FOET, MIST, Offshore Medical or equivalent) (Desirable).
Working Hours
Monday – Friday, full-time.
Flexibility to work outside standard office hours (time is received back in lieu).
