P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Ships Agent to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full time, permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build effective working relationships with Clients, ensuring that they always receive the highest quality of service delivery and support.
  • Action operational requests from Vessels/Vessel Owners/Vessel Charterer.
  • Sourcing/Procurement of equipment and supplies.
  • Inputting, retrieving and reporting of data using computerised systems, ensuring accuracy and appropriate presentation style.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of Risk Assessments/Method Statements and undertake review of same ensuring compliance with legislation/company rules.
  • Work closely with companies Safety Advisors during any incident investigation or safety initiative to effect timeous and positive results.
  • Driving duties which may include the company minibuses or flatbed trucks, to safely transport ships personnel/belongings and equipment.

Person Specification:

  • Customer focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, flexible and can adapt to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
  • Solutions based with strong planning, organising and numeric skills, and an excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work stand-alone, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while a positive contributor to the wider team.
  • Motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support, maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Flexibility to facilitate an on-call weekend rota
  • Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite. MS AX would be advantageous.
  • Full clean driving license
  • Dangerous Goods by Sea (Desirable)

Working Hours:

  • 40 Hours per week
  • Mon-Fri: 08:00-16:30
  • On call and weekend cover on rota basis
