P+S Recruitment are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a General Builder to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full-time, contract basis.
Our client is looking for an experienced general builder to carry out a range of building and adaptation works in occupied domestic properties and on access-related projects.
The role will involve general building works associated with UPVC door and window replacements, access improvements, concrete paths and ramps, groundworks, and modular access installations.
The successful candidate must be confident in surveying and carrying out works from start to finish, including measuring up for replacement UPVC doors and windows and passing accurate information back to the office for ordering.
Typical works will include:
- Surveying and measuring existing UPVC doors and windows for replacement
- Providing accurate dimensions and site information to the office for ordering
- Removing and reinstalling / fitting UPVC doors and windows, mainly doors
- Making good internal brickwork and surrounding finishes after replacement works
- Making good external render and other external finishes
- Carrying out general making-good works internally and externally
- Digging out for new paths, ramps and access works
- Preparing groundworks for modular ramp and access installations
- Laying concrete paths and concrete ramps
- General groundwork and building works associated with access adaptations
- Assisting with and installing modular access systems as and when required
Ideal candidate:
- Proven experience as a general builder with good all-round construction skills
- Confident with UPVC door and window removal, replacement and making good
- Able to survey, measure accurately and communicate clearly with the office
- Experienced in brickwork repairs, render repairs, concreting and groundwork
- Able to work neatly in occupied properties and live environments
- Reliable, practical and able to solve problems on site
- Own tools and transport preferred
- Must hold a current DBS certificate
- Subcontract basis
