P+S Energy are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who are currently seeking a Base and Mobilisation Support Engineer to join their team based in Bury St Edmunds on a full-time, permanent basis.

Role Summary:

You will be reporting to the Technical Manager, the ideal applicant will either have a strong technical background in subsea electronic technology or be qualified in electronics or IT discipline and demonstrates the ability to transition into a new industry.

You will need to demonstrate a confident “can do” attitude in a fast-paced environment and must be a team player. You will need to be an excellent communicator and offer exceptional attention to detail.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the pre-project preparation and configuration of the company’s Survey equipment packages (Survey, IT, Electronic), to meet project specifications & deadlines.
  • Responsible for Post Project Testing, Maintenance & Repair of the company’s equipment pool.
  • Create Technical Fault reports and follow company equipment testing procedures in line with company ISO processes.
  • Keep up to date the company Asset Tracking System in line with procedures.
  • Provide Clear & effective communication between the Workshop and Operation teams.
  • Assisting the Technical Manager with engineering development and taking on additional responsibility to support company requirements.
  • Be part of the company’s out-of-hour Technical Support Team and attend worksite mobilisations.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Higher Education qualified in Electronic or IT Engineering or relevant academic or industry experience with strong IT/Networking knowledge.
  • Previous position within offshore Survey, ROV operations or Marine electronic engineering desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving outlook and excellent attention to detail.
  • High standard of QHSE in the workplace.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently when representing the company.
  • Ability to follow procedures and processes correctly.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to develop a strong knowledge of our core products and services.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to deadline.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ambitious and self-motivated.
  • Have a flexible and pro-active approach to working and learning in an industry recognised technology company.
