P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Vehicle Technician to join their team on a full time permanent basis, based in Diss.

Definition of Role:
• To ensure that customer satisfaction and customer retention is maximised.
• To ensure that all company policies and procedures are always adhered to.
• To carry out general maintenance repairs, servicing, warranty, internal work to the highest standards.
• To achieve high levels of productivity through conscientious improvements in efficiency.
• To carry out all work in a safe and economical manner.

Objectives and Key Tasks:
Improved Profitability:
• To achieve high levels of productivity through conscientious improvements in efficiency.
• To employ such knowledge and skills as may be required to test vehicles and diagnose faults.
• Service and repair of all types of passenger and light commercial vehicles to manufactures specification.
• Complete repairs/servicing in accordance with manufactures procedures and H&S Guidelines.
• Ensure the health, safety and well being of all employees and customers onsite; and that all the procedures with regards to health and safety are adhered to.
• Attend and complete all manufactures training course required to carry out your job role and continued development.
• Store any removed parts from vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner.
• To take care not to cause accidental damage to vehicles and components during service or repair.
• For the purposes of insurance and H&S all vehicle entering the workshop must have repair order/job card raised against them.
• To report any faulty equipment or tooling to supervisor/Manager.
Customer Service and Satisfaction:
• To ensure customer satisfaction in the service and repair of motor vehicles of all types.
• To carry out general maintenance repairs, servicing, warranty, internal work to the highest standards.
• Road testing of vehicles to aid fault finding and as part of the quality control checking process, post repair.
• Where applicable to carry out MOT testing to the required standards and processes as specified by VOSA/DVSA.
• To advise workshop control/Service/Aftersales Advisor/Management of any additional work required and likely delays in completing work.
• Qualified Technicians to carry out MOT test in accordance with the MOT tester’s manual.
• Promote all services of the group to customers when the opportunity arises.
• Keep working area clean and ensure the company vehicles, equipment and special tools are used in the correct manner.
• To road test vehicles in a safe manner, whilst adhering to Highway Code.
• To ensure vehicle protection (seat covers, floor mats etc) are used at all times.
• To ensure customers' vehicles and property are kept secure.
Cost Control:
• To carry out all work in a safe and economical manner.
• To ensure all job sheets are correctly written up and forwarded for pricing.
• To ensure all materials and parts drawn from the parts department are accounted for.
• To ensure all equipment and documentation is accounted for.
• To ensure all warranty work, documentation and returnable components are accounted for.
Record Maintenance:
• To ensure that warranty repairs are completed as per manufacturing standards.
• Carry out Sales department PDi inspections on new cars, and vehicle checks on Used Cars. Ensure all relevant documentation and checks are completed as part of his process.
• Carry out a “Vehicle Heath Check” as required, along with using any video vehicle heath check operational within the Service department.
• To ensure that all faults or extra servicing requirements have been reported and noted on job card.
• To ensure that all hours and material usage is accurately recorded.
• To maintain accurate records of parts used on warranty repairs.

Person Specification:
• To have served a recognised apprenticeship
• Qualified to City & Guilds level 2, NVQ level 3 or ATA level 2 or 3
• To have undertaken manufacturing training courses
• To have experience in the servicing a repair of motor vehicles
