P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently recruiting a HR Assistant to join their team based in Lowestoft on a full time, permanent basis.

Purpose of the role:
• To support the HR Manager with all aspects of the employment life cycle, including recruitment, sickness absence, performance management, disciplinaries & grievances, training and development initiatives, monthly reporting and ensuring all systems and employment records are kept up to date.
• Providing an excellent HR service to the business.

Key Tasks and Skills:
• Deal with HR queries professionally and in-line with company policy and procedures.
• Maintaining/updating HR database.
• Payroll processing.
• HR Inductions.
• Creating records and updating all HR systems and database.
• Maintaining HR P&P to ensure they are up to date with legislation.
• Dealing with HR queries.
• Write and sending letters and emails.
• Sickness management and monitoring.
• Supporting with monthly reporting.
• Support ongoing management of PDR process.
• Updating company wallboards/noticeboards.
• Ensure HR admin and records are kept up-to-date ensuring processes are followed.
• Any other duties that are reasonably requested of you in the delivery of this role.

Person Specification:
• Generalist HR experience
• Previous experience using HR systems/databases
• Strong administration skills
• Able to work with confidential information
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent relationship building and communication skills
• The ability to prioritise own work and strive to deliver an efficient service to the business
• Be friendly and approachable
• Exceptional time-management and organisation skills and has the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
• Be enthusiastic, pro-active, and able to work on own when required
• Driven and self-motivated
• Maintain a high level of professionalism
• Strong IT skills – especially in Microsoft packages, eg, Word and Excel
• Able to provide support/advise to Line Managers/Team Leaders when required on people related matters

Education and Experience:
• CIPD Level 3 (or equivalent)
• Previous HR generalist experience in a similar role

Hours of Employment:
• 40 hours per week
• Flexibility during the company’s peak trading periods.
