Our client is looking to recruit to the position of QC Manager.  Responsible for maintaining the quality and reliability of products and services, determining whether finished products are of a specified quality, attempt to determine the cause of product defects that may be found and develop methods for reducing their occurrence.

Responsibilities

  1. Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation including sampling procedures.
  2. Inspect and test products at various stages in production process, establish testing procedures to determine a product’s dimensions and its mechanical and/or chemical characteristics.  Set up and perform testing on materials, parts of finished products to measure product performance under a variety of conditions.  Responsible for the documentation of test results.
  3. Prepare summaries to show how the product might differ from existing standards of quality and reliability, may suggest changes in how products are made to achieve the best quality possible, also recommend methods to minimise material usage.
  4. Quality control manager may specialise in product design, purchasing, inventory control or r&d, however, will be involved in all these areas within the company.
  5. Reports to Contracts Manager.
  6. Responsible for the quality of all products sold.
  7. Manage QC resource in China.
  8. Responsible for ensuring clear understanding of the standards and quality required by customer at tender/quote stage.
  9. Ensure drawings are checked prior to being sent to supplier.
  10. Ensure the PO details all requirements and quality plan is included.
  11. Responsible for obtaining and checking quality plans from suppliers.
  12. Responsible for ensuring checks/tests are carried out against plan.
  13. Responsible for investigation into quality issues following completion and/or delivery to customer.
  14. Ensure checks evolve to cover new issues highlighted.
  15. Ensure auditing of new suppliers takes place and closely monitor first few orders.

The ideal person will also have run ISO 9001 quality system and managed staff, as they will be responsible for our clients inspectors in China.
