Description :
P&S Personnel are currently seeking a Web Applications Developer to join our high profile client completing development ranging from corporate intranet implementations through to sites maintained on their servers.
The emphasis is on developing robust, highly optimised, and scalable solutions to client business needs and the development work spans the data and business logic tiers of the application, from SQL database design, through VB.NET/C++ middleware, onto XML generation for web services or AJAX based HTML interfaces. My clients web tools target Windows Server platforms, using Microsoft SQL Server and IIS.
Due to my clients growth they are seeking graduates in physical sciences, engineering, mathematics or computer science with a strong technical ability in database-based web development. The successful candidate will work as a software developer, designing and implementing aspects of web tools. This can include customer-facing work in design and specification, as well as business consulting and ongoing support.
A strong engineering, scientific or mathematical background and good communication abilities are essential, as it is important to understand fully the technical aspects of client business processes before developing solutions for them. Successful applicants will be flexible, self-motivated and work well as part of a team.
Essential
- 1+ years recent advanced.NET programming experience as part of a significant web development project (personal, commercial or academic).
- Experience of using SQL Server or other relational DB e.g. Oracle, DB2 or MySQL.
- Strong engineering, scientific or mathematical background.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience of using Windows Server operating systems.
- Examples of work done previously is essential.
Desirable
- Experience of writing SOAP or REST web services
- Experience of advanced JavaScript programming using AJAX or JSON
- Experience of native C++ programming
- Server OS administration
- Team Foundation Server
