P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Production Engineer to join their maintenance team based in Great Yarmouth.

Ensure minimal manufacturing disruption through proactive equipment maintenance, repair and calibration scheduling, and continuous process improvement programmes

Main Duties:
• Provide Engineering support for current and new products in Manufacturing
• Provide technical support for capital improvement projects
• Generate and maintain associated manufacturing documents to support the above
• Be the Engineering Lead for specific projects
• Maintain equipment inventory, asset list, maintenance log and calibration schedules
• Ensure good housekeeping at all times to maintain a safe working environment
• Comply with the latest EHS policies and applicable regulatory requirements
• Develop and drive improvements to increase productivity and implement best practices
• Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required/instructed in order to maintain and/or improve the efficiency, quality and service of the Engineering Team
• Continuous Improvement – you will have responsibility to make suggestions on Continuous Improvement within the business; expectations are around four a year. This responsibility forms part all employees’ job description.

Objectives:
• Ensure maintenance and repair work is carried out in a timely manner to meet Manufacturing deadlines
• Support product and process development programmes
• Identify and evaluate new equipment and processes
• Drive productivity, cost and quality improvement

Relationships:
• External – liaise with part suppliers and equipment manufacturers, which may require visits to the suppliers’ place of business
• Internal – engage with all departments within the company as necessary to carry out the duties outlined above

Person Specification

Education / Experience:
It is expected that applicants will be qualified to level 5, or better, of the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications. However, applicants will be considered in light of their technical knowledge, experience and demonstrable skills where formal qualifications at level 5 or above are incomplete or absent:
• HND or Bachelor/Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline
• Proven experience in manufacturing process engineering
• Practical understanding of microelectronics assembly
• Experience in the Aerospace or similar industries

Key Competencies:
Any or all the following are desirable, but not essential:
Competency in:
• Installation, commissioning, maintenance and repairs of equipment used in microelectronics manufacturing
• Design and manufacture of jigs and fixtures
• Workshop processes and procedures
• Programmable logic controllers
• Technical report writing
• Operator training

Familiarity with:
• SMT and PCBA – automatic solder and resin dispensing, SM pick and place, belt reflow soldering
• Thick film hybrid technology – screen printing, belt firing, SM pick and place, wire bonding, packaging
• Electronic package coding and ink technologies
• Electronic test methodologies
• Clean room environments
• Industry quality standards
• High reliability microelectronics design and development
• Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, Outlook)
• ERP / MRP systems
