are seeking an, engaging, inspiring and proven leader to head up the manufacturing and associated operations. You will join the
board to lead the manufacturing and process operations and, help develop and
implement growth strategies throughout the business.
You will be a robust manufacturing/Operations professional
with the energy and leadership experience in a multi-site manufacturing
Your remit will be in leading transformational change in
logistics and warehousing.
Operational experience in a food related production business
is an advantage.
Degree or equivalent qualification is expected, a proven
track record is essential.
Reporting to the Group Managing Director the position will
lead and develop the manufacturing operations across two locations.
Key Responsibilities and Objectives
To lead, coach and develop the 3 Factory Managers and the
approximately 200 strong operational team. Within this to step change the
communication flow in and out of the workforce.
To work closely with the other Exec Leadership Team members
to drive the business towards its year 2022 goals.
Transform the approach to service, logistics and warehousing
and integrate them into the manufacturing teams to drive better linkages
between production planning and sales planning.
Develop a strong KPI suite of operational indices for use in
daily/weekly reporting, board level decisions, and again in communication into
and out of the workforce.
Ownership of the engineering teams across both sites. Focus
on integration and operation of a multimillion Capital program over next 5
years in conjunction with the design and build lead which sits with the
Technical Director, development of the team, and improvement of spend.
Leadership of Business Improvement Program within
manufacturing including efficiencies in production, capacity increases and cost
Drive and guide our program of continuing energy efficiency
to control the approx. £7M spend on energy within the business.
Maintain adherence to various compliance systems including
ISO9001 to ensure operational relevance and suitability.
Ensure the company operates and adheres to good health,
safety and environmental practices that allow us to comply with permits and
Look for opportunities to automate areas of the process
where this is cost effective and enrich job roles for our people.
Energy, enthusiasm and excellent communication skills that
span managerial to shop floor to invigorate and challenge in a positive way.
The role will require both a strategic and tactical approach
to drive process efficiency and innovation.
