P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team based in Norwich, on a full time permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure site maintenance is carried out regularly
• Maintain correct and accurate document records in line with the maintenance activities carried out
• Affirm machinery and equipment is serviced at regular intervals
• Ensure a safe working environment for employees
• Support Head of SHEQ, Facilities and BI to carry out proactive and reactive maintenance to a wide range of Plant and Equipment covering electrical, mechanical and building service/tasks in line with the planned preventative maintenance schedules requirements
• To contribute to projects in the building as and when required, including re-developments and refurbishments
• To be aware of any hazards or faults and rectify where possible and keeping the Head of Facilities informed at all times
• Maintain compliance with statutory health, safety and environmental provisions
• General site maintenance and upkeep
• Undertake regular testing of fire alarms, completing the appropriate logs, and notifying the Head of SHEQ, Facilities and BI of any issues of malfunctioning equipment
• Overhauling and replacing parts according to schedule
• Complete proactive inspections and any required remedial repairs and monitor and manage equipment operation
• To liaise as necessary with contractors
• To be first line of response to maintenance issues on all types of equipment including Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, Building Management Systems and pumps
• Supporting production, engineering and other internal teams during design, specification and installation of new equipment and systems

Person Specification:
• Dealing with emergency and unplanned problems and repairs
• Following maintenance strategies, risk assessments, methods statements and procedures
• Diagnosing breakdown problems and fix them safely and in an agreed time scale
• Use tools and specials equipment to fix machines
• Assist with installation and commissioning of necessary building services as part of refurbishment work
• Understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental issues
• Good DIY/trade skills
• Diagnosing breakdown problems
• An awareness of Health & Safety and environmental legislation
• Good all-round mechanical knowledge and experience
• Good problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Quick learner
• Excellent inter-personal skills
• Be self-motivated, able to work as part of a small team and, on occasions alone
• Positive, proactive attitude and approach to tasks
• Demonstrate some flexibility with occasional requirements to work during evenings and weekends
• Willingness to learn and further yourself through company specialist training
• Good forward planning
• Attention to detail
• Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and dealing with the consequences
• Ability to respond appropriately to alarms
• Ability to use initiative and be adaptable
