P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking an IT Support Technician to join their team based in Eye, Suffolk on a full time permanent basis.

This role will be to provide a proactive, responsive support service to the users of IT, to keep the business systems working effectively.

Responsibilities:
• To provide a quality ‘first line’ computer hardware and software support service.
• To maintain and update Help Desk calls.
• To assist the IT Department in technical projects.
• To provide a central point of contact in the IT Department to assist in IT troubleshooting across all the computer systems in the Company.
• To update a ticket management system to maintain a detailed record of all faults and fixes.
• To manage IT support queries quickly and effectively.
• To maintain technical documentation to ensure records are up to date.
• To work with the agreed SLAs for communication, escalation and response times.
• To escalate accordingly to the relevant resources and support.
• To assist with support to the servers and the Server Room as required.
• To support system security and development as required.
• To deploy and support hardware within the business (PC, laptop, printers etc).
• To provide telecoms support as required.
• The maintenance and development of the door entry and time and attendance system.
• To maintain the IT consumables required in the business.
• To undertake active directory and networking using DNS, DHCP or TCP/IP.
• To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested giving due regard to your existing status.

Person Specification:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good administrative skills and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• A self-starter who has the ability to work under their own initiative to a high standard with excellent attention to detail.
• Open style and a team player.
• A desire to develop a career in ICT and a willingness to learn and develop as an individual.
• Self-motivated and decisive with the flexibility to adapt to change and competing demands.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Operational experience in an IT environment within business.
• Customer facing skills.
• A Levels, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a computer based subject.
• Customer service focused – internal and external.
• The ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times.
• A strong work ethic and personal motivation.
• Initiative and drive with the ability to take on and solve challenging problems.
