Personnel are pleased to be seeking a Fabrication Manager to work on behalf of
our clients based in Eye, Suffolk. This role will be to dynamically
support the Manufacturing Manager in creating a zero-harm environment/culture,
that produces products to the quality and timescales required by the customer.
This is to be done in the most cost-effective way whilst fully supporting the
Company’s Vision and Value.

Duties & Key Responsibilities:

To assist in the task to create and
sustain a zero-harm environment.

Lead all aspects of continuous improvement within the area
covering safety, quality, efficiency and workplace organisation.

To analyse weekly and monthly demand as provided by the
planning function and utilise the appropriate resources, labour, material and
facilities to meet delivery deadline and performance targets.

To carry out detailed assessment of departmental
performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

To use lean manufacturing tools and techniques to improve
the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

General Responsibilities:

To regularly review the capability and capacity of the
department and its ability to meet/exceed performance targets.

To ensure that agreed systems are carried out, daily
briefings/inspections and departmental audits.

To optimise efficiency via sound delegation of tasks and
jobs within the team.

To ensure that product routings are maintained within the
Epicor ERP system.

To maintain an engaged workforce and a “can do” culture.

To ensure adequate supplies of consumable to allow the
smooth and effective running of the department.

To ensure that a training programme is in place to attain
the skills necessary to meet current and future needs of the business.

To be fully aware and ensure continued implementation of
the Company’s ISO 9001 procedures and work instructions.

To fully ensure we meet the requirements of ISO 3834
Welder Certification Scheme and ISO 9606 Welder Coding.

To ensure the accurate and timely booking of jobs within
the ERP system.

To assist the Manufacturing Manager and Continuous
Improvement Manager with capital projects.

To work in chorus with other departments/department heads
to meet business needs.

To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be
requested giving due regard to your existing status.

Essential Skills & Personal Attributes:

An individual with a bias for action who will look beyond
the obvious for solutions to problems and opportunities for improvement.

Demonstrable knowledge of modern manufacturing systems and
fabrication methodology.

Ability to thing big and create a bold direction that
inspires all around you.

Confident leader who can deliver change management in an
inclusive way.

around barriers if they arise.

Excellent communication, organisational and motivational
skills with the ability to mentor and coach individuals.

Work Experience Requirements:

Extensive fabrication experience/knowledge gained in an
engineering environment with a minimum of five years managing in this

Proven experience in creating/sustaining a zero-harm
environment, ideally with an IOSH/NEBOSH qualification.

Experience in managing a team of 40 staff.

Very comfortable using lean techniques to improve overall

Man-management experience

Educational Requirements:

ONC / HNC / Degree in Engineering
