MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Are you an experienced Estimator with proven experience in engineering manufacturing with a high degree of initiative in providing estimates for major projects
Within leading edge manufacturing?
We are seeking an Estimator to provide accurate and robust cost base estimates and
sign off sheets to the business to allow quotations and bids to be made to the
RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Business Development
Generate Labour and Material estimates to satisfy
requests, which must be authorised and approved with a comprehensive Basis of

displaying numerical and descriptive information.
Prepare special reports by collecting, analysing,
and summarising information and trends.
Maintain cost data base with information obtained
from IFS / Procurement, by entering and backing up data.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending
educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
and continuous improvement through by assessing the cost impact of
technologies and manufacturing techniques
Close liaison with
Procurement, Engineering, Operations, Project Management and Commercial.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Estimating, planning, reporting research results,
attention to detail, informing others, requirements analysis
An ability to transpose a technical drawing or
maintenance manual into a resource demand and material cost estimate, or distil
and clearly articulate the proposal scope, contractual and technical
Experience within the defence, manufacturing or
repair and maintenance environment.
A challenging nature, the desire to question and
understand the reasoning behind technical assumptions. The conviction to stand
behind the assumptions you make in the generation of cost estimates.
The ability to think outside the box and make
confident estimating assessments based on previous knowledge and experience
Computer literate (Excel / Word). Working practise
of 3-Point Estimating, risk generation and Monte-Carlo simulation modelling
