Our client is a highly innovative manufacturer, privately owned with a substantial presence in Thetford manufacturing an extensive product portfolio which are all well-known household brands. We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager for our major processing plant to drive continuous improvement and the highest levels of efficiencies.

Responsible for developing and implementing a site wide performance improvement strategy which delivers measurable and sustainable improvements in line with the site objectives.

Job Accountabilities:

·         Developing a performance improvement roadmap and structure improvement programme for the site aligned with site’s operational and strategic plan

·         Provide excellent client service by establishing goals and implementation plans to achieve high-quality deliverables with expected timescales and on budget

·         Develop project charters defining objectives, scope, approach, resources and time-plan

·         Lead kaizen events with multi-functional teams using lean and six sigma tools as required and serve as project leader on selected projects

·         Monitor progress and manage risk to delivery of performance improvements and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes

·         Champion accurate and complete daily data collection at a line/product level (output and losses)

·         Work with site management to establish specific focus for improvement efforts

·         Prepare training materials and deliver training to site employees in problem solving, and lean tools and techniques

·         Maintain working knowledge of available technologies and innovations relevant to operations

·         Develop a continuous improvement scorecard this is aligned to the delivery of the site scorecard in terms of safety, productivity, cost, quality and service

·         Promote effective safe working practices

·         Ensure company health and safety practices and procedures are adhered to at all times

·         Detailed knowledge of business and own areas processes and procedures.  Recognised as an expert in your own area

·         Clearly understands and drives KPI improvement under the five pillars

·         Actively encourages, organises and applies lean techniques and processes

·         Delivers quality and accuracy in own and teams work

·         Delivers high standards of workplace cleanliness

·         Effectively uses resources available, people, utilities and materials

·         Able to cope under pressure and flex with peaks in personal workload

·         Able to use and understand management operating systems and IT based packages

·         Able to anticipate/identify problems and use available resources to provide effective solutions

·         Time management: Ensure the most effective use of personal and team’s time

Candidate Specification:

·         Ability to demonstrate a strong track record of delivering incremental and sustained change (Essential)

·         Experienced in Lean Principles, 5S, Kaizen, CI Strategy, Six Sigma (Essential)

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Essential)

·         Previous experience in a chemical environment (Desirable)

·         5 Years FMCG Experience (Desirable)
